Luke Manley looking happy as VTL introduced at RMAF a new under $2500 phono preamp. The TP 2.5 has separate high and low gain inputs and can accept MC cartridges with outputs of .5mV and up. It was on static display so we didn't get a chance to hear it....but we will soon.

$2500 is still a lot of money, even though phono preamps are expensive. electronic equipment is expensive though, I tried to learn to speed up computer for free but it's hard and money might be necessary here as well.

The phono preamp, is built-in to most older receivers and amps, allowing direct connection of a turntable. So the same level increase is needed if you are connecting a turntable to a computer sound card's line input so you can make CD-Rs from LPs, again, the external phono preamp provides it.
