In the early 1970s, the recording industry was starting to bloom with the new technology of solid state. Audio console giants like API, Neve and Trident are evidence of sonic quality of the transistor revolution. There was a creative industry within the audio world. It was, without question, a golden age. Another name in that generation was the American-made Quad Eight. Even though the Q8 consoles were more rare and lesser-known than the others, there are some that feel that they were the best in their field. This is why A-Designs took up the challenge to take a closer look at what put the soul in to the Quad Eight sound.
With Quad Eight Ventura, Coronado and Pacifica console channel-amps for reference, A-Designs closely examined the composition of these great pieces. After much design, A/B-ing, and beta testing, the result is The Pacifica, a solid state, rack mounted 1U dual mic-preamp from the "glory days."
Each Channel features:
Direct Input for Hi Z instruments,
-20dB pad switch
phase invert switch
phantom power switch.
