This is the REAL DEAL, a 4 X 10 VINTAGE Fender Super Reverb-Amp that is 100% black-face in every way but front-panel and price. This is not a modded or converted amp. This early '68 "drip-edge" is one of the very first silver-face amps built, S# A 29297. It is a genuine AB763 ORIGINAL black-face circuit from the factory. If it had a black front-panel I'd be asking hundreds more for the sheer cosmetic of it. CBS did not get around to changing these amps until '69. I have just had it fully serviced at a cost of $370.00. It had been sitting idle for 20 years (no wear and tear for two decades!) and many of the capacitors and resistors had to be replaced. It has all four of the original 10-inch speakers, and all the tubes are original except: We replaced the two 12AT7 tubes (phase invertor and reverb tube) with Groove Tubes 12AT7, and the rectifier tube was gonzo, so the amp has a new GT 5AR4 rectifier. All the audio-tubes are original and tested strong* The old lamp-cord was replaced with a new balanced 3-prong AC cable. I have a bag with ALL the original parts if you want them. The amp even has the original reverb/trem footswitch which works! Cosmetically the amp is a strong 8. It looks about 10 or 15 years old, not 40.

You know what this Super is and what it sounds like. It's THE Blues and Blues Rock amp, hands down. You've always wanted one, and they just keep going up and up in price. We'll they're NOT coming down. In six months it'll be $150 more. Even the silvers have gone up huge in the last two years. Now here's the chance to get a real dog-gone Super for a decent price. The Black-faces are now two grand. This IS a blackface, but because it's lucky enough to be one of the first silver-faces ever made, you can have it for hundreds less, and fully serviced, and with a matched pair of 6L6 tubes to-boot!

*I cannot guarantee that the amp was never retubed some time in the distant past.
