Recently, I presented the idea to AnalogPlanet editor Michael Fremer that I could do my very own online radio show to post on AnalogPlanet. I could transfer most of the songs from vinyl, stitch them together, and speak in between DJ sets. MF said “try it and let’s see how it turns out.”

Today's John (Cougar) Melloncamp WFDU HD2 radio show is the final AnalogPlanet radio show. It's sure been fun but it takes up a great deal of time producing and researching—much of every weekend—and it's time to put it to bed, though it's been a fantastic experience.

When Stereophile deadlines loom, AnalogPlanet content suffers. Nothing can be done. But the radio show must go on so this week's show is all Island Records and all from the storied label's early years.

Today's show is all-Motown sourced almost exclusively from original stereo pressings. Well, there's one curve-ball: The Clash's "Hitsville U.K.", which is sort of a Motown tribute song. And the Marvin Gaye Anthol

From where came the inspiration for a two hour Phil Spector radio show, I do not know. However it did and I acted on it. So here is a two hour show featuring Phil Spector produced songs sourced exclusively from vinyl.

Today's playlist is all about spring, with a short detour to celebrate Chuck Berry and Larry Coryell.

Today's AnalogPlanet Radio show celebrates Saint Patrick's Day with an eclectic assortment of tunes and artists designed to demonstrate the strong connection between Irish and American music. Van Morrison once famously quipped that American soul music derives from Irish music.

The Costello album cover is misleading. Today's show is mostly a collection of happy songs, not a spotlight on Elvis Costello's great R&B tribute album.

Today's show is a mix of "stuff" including from records pressed at the new Third Man Pressing Plant. Also comparisons between Analogue Productions' and Electric Recording Company's versions of Prestige monos and AAA and DSD sourced "Satisfaction" vinyl. And yes, if I sound sorta tired it's because I was!

President's Day seemed like the ideal day for a "funny music" show, so do your patriotic duty and listen and hopefully laugh at it all.

A Doors tribute today on AnalogPlanet Radio occasionally sourced from original pressings but mostly from Analogue Productions' 45rpm box set. If you are hesitant to purchase it but love The Doors, better not listen! From the first note of "Touch Me" you'll easily hear what a great job Bruce Botnick and the late Doug Sax did with these fragile tapes.

Today's AnalogPlanet WFDU HD2 radio show consists of songs about infidelity and cheating. It covers most musical genres, which demonstrates that people cheat regardless of their musical preferences! Whether or not you have cheated, I think you'll dig the songs about it by artists who may or may not have themselves cheated.

AnalogPlanet editor Michael Fremer made sure to be home from C.E.S. 2017 in time to do a live radio show today, January 9th, about David Bowie, . It's the day after Bowie's birthday and the day before his death.

Please enjoy this AnalogPlanet Radio Christmas show from 2016. It contains some very familiar and many unfamiliar (to most listeners) secular Christmas songs (and one Hanukah song).
