Music Hall MMF-7.1 Turntable With Cartridge Plus Set-Up Tools and Vinyl From Music Direct Sweepstakes

Register to win a Music Hall MMF-7.1 Turntable With Cartridge Plus Set-Up Tools and Vinyl From Music Direct (MSRP $1,700) we are giving away.

According to Music Direct:

All the Analog Planet readers should know Roy Hall of Music Hall Audio. His “Manufacturer’s Comments” in Stereophile are legendary. While Roy may like to give reviewers a hard time, he sure does know a few things about designing fantastic sounding turntables. The MMF-7.1 is Music Direct Best-Seller and a favorite among vinyl lovers and the high-end audio community. This turntable comes complete with an outboard motor to keep vibration at bay, a double plinth design to further isolate the delicate stylus/record interface, a heavily upgraded tonearm, a great Music Hall Mojo cartridge (built by Ortofon), and even includes a discover for protection. To get you up and running immediately, Music Direct will also provide some set-up tools and some great new vinyl. And if you ever run into Mr. Hall, offer to buy him a Scotch and tell him how much you love his turntable. .

I can see that has many elements of any high end turntable.

Would love to have it and get rid of the one I have.

Big lover of vinyl records and great sound quality,

My Denon DP-59 Turntable broke in my last move. This would be a very nice replacement.

igozoom's picture

There is nothing that compares to a good vinyl recording.Vinyl makes you become a listener, instead of jumpimg around on a cd player.

pgmdir's picture

Want it!

mcmoto's picture

I would love to be able to enjoy all the vinyl I've been squirreling away, some of which has sat unlistened to as my current "record player" is more likely to damage my records than show their true colors.

rebop33's picture

Oh yes, it will be mine...

phiszle's picture

My very first turntable was the mmf-2.1.  I've heard the mmf-5.1 at an audio store in Dallas TX, so I can only imagine how great the mmf-7.1 would sound.

thomaswitt's picture

I have about 1,500 albums begging to be played on this. I think my Pioneer PL-707 mounted with a Shure VR15-MR will be jealous though.

vladimirwolfe's picture

Pick me! Pick me!

joeperez007's picture

Wow what can I say; I would love to own this handsome deck! I have some new albums just received that I know would sound great if played on the Music Hall MMF 7.1!

The analog sound medium is by far the best way to listen to music!

K-Horn's picture

My faithful Bang & Olufsen 8000 died last christmas, and it was the first christmas since like 78 that I didnt play christmas music through the horns and the B&O. Actually probably around 80 or 81 when I bought the table. Incredible sound, well it was anyhow. Held it's own against Tandberg 10 1/2 w Maxell, Nakamichi decks, etc. I have been pricing tables, but to get the same "specs" as the B&O, I'm looking at like 4500 or more for a very expensive VPI. All the tables I have checked below this figure offer about half the specs as seen on paper. And with the MMC20CL, well you get the picture. Probably another 5 grand just for the cartridge, probably a benz glider. I probably wont win, but I sure could use it. Been running the death out of the cd player. See Ya everyone!

Nice deck.

This turn table looks like it need to be in my home.  Thanks for a chance.

vqworks's picture

Winning the MMF-7.1 turntable would be a great way to compare it to my MMF-5.  If the MMF-7.1 is an audible improvement over the 5, I'd be very happy.  The 7.1 is certainly a serious looking turntable (at least to me).

The MMF-5 was a quiet and smooth operater but it didn't have the transient attack that gives listeners a rush of adrenaline.  Bass was also a bit thin.  The original 2-layer plinth also didn't isolate the table very well against knocks or taps on the stand so feedback was a potential problem (heavy footfalls could occasionally be picked up and even cause the stylus to jump).

If the MMF-7.1 could improve on any of these shortcomings, I'd actually buy it.  But there's no better way to try it than to win it and get it for free!

Please. Please. Please.

BlueLou222's picture

Fingers crossedsmiley

exile_ken's picture

The timing on this is great.  I am activly shoping for a turntable.  I have not had a working TT in my system for 15 years, and I am ready to dive back into the pool.  I still have 200 or so albums leftover from a collection that was 1300 back in the day (mid 80's).  Being a father of three, my budget has me looking at tables in the $400 - $500 range (Pro-Ject debut III, Denon DP-300F to name two).  So winning a table of this quality which is way beyond my budget when I am looking to return to my vinyl roots would be nothing short of AWESOME.  Plus I would have $300 - $400 to buy vinyl 8-)!!!!!  This would take a permanent place in my system, and never appear on ebay or audiogon.

I've always enjoyed the Music Hall demo rooms at the Stereophile shows, and would love to have one of their fine turntables in my apartment. The guys from Music Hall haven't forgotten how to have a good time while selling stuff. A stiff shot of whiskey should be listed as a Sterophile cheap tweak !
