I thought you might find interesting the AMG arm's unique bearing. At the very top you can see two cylindrical vertical posts. The protrusions atop them fit into the top of the tonearm housing and are secured to it.

The $15,500 German AMG turntable/tonearm combo imported to America by Musical Surroundings is a deceptively simple and compact product but to really understand its unique, high tech engineering requires a look inside.

The Big Analog Dog is coming to town!

If you're looking for a quick and easy answer to the question "How good is The Beatles box set?" you've come to the wrong place. Each album deserves to be evaluated individually and that's what I intend to do, though the lesser ones (if there is such a thing among Beatles albums) will get less attention.

Decemberist leader Colin Meloy has crafted a charming, hour long folk/ rock opera based on an ancient Japanese fable dealing with greed, loyalty and betrayal. A poor man finds a wounded crane, which he rescues and returns to good health. Shortly after releasing it back to the wild, a mysterious woman arrives at his home. The two fall in love and get married. To make ends meet, she agrees to weave silk garments to sell at the local market. Her only condition for doing the work is that he never watches her doing it.
