Stein Music Exhibits Analog Accessories

Germany-based Stein Music exhibited the Aventurin 6, a Benz-Micro based boron cantilevered MC phono cartridge featuring a a gold plated brass mounting structure encased in a sandwiched body of Mahogany and carbon fiber. Price is around $4600.

The company also showed the DE3 LP Conditioner, which is a record demagnetizer featuring a coil of pure copper wound around a ferrite core driven by a low distortion amplifier. The until features a large flat surface upon which you place the record, which can be left in the sleeve because the top plate does not include a spindle. Price is around $3200.

Stein also showed the Achat 1, a cartridge alignment protractor featuring a unique geometric scheme that places the null points at 74mm and 128mm as well as a pair of MC phono step-up devices and a Harmonizer system that changes the makeup of the air in the room to reduce its resistance to the speaker movement. That sounds "unusual" but I sat through a demo at last April's New York Hi-Fi Show and it was easy to hear the sonic improvement when the call square boxes sitting upon tripods radiated their whatever they radiate into the room.
