Before donating to Good Will an old Hitachi mini DVD recorder that was so "high-tech" in 2005, it was necessary to transfer all of the useful footage. So here are the "highlights" culled from hours of stuff including the 2006 Stereophile show at the New York Hilton—Stereophile's final sponsored show.

For some reason there's not much footage from the show but there is some from an "ask the editors" panel (but not enough).

Saxophonist Jerome Sabbagh's 2014 Kickstarter funded release The Turn was a musical and sonic success. It got great reviews here, in the Boston Globe, Stereophile and the L.A. Times. Now Sabbagh is back with another Kickstarter funded project but this time instead of recording analog and cutting from digital because of the extra expenses involved, he's going for an all-analog production.

The Home Tech Network has been purchased from TEN by AVTech Media Ltd (UK) it was announced today in a deal that's been in the works for some time. That means the Home Tech Network's six brands, Stereophile, Sound & Vision, Shutterbug, AnalogPlanet, Audiostream, and Innerfidelity will join with AVTech Media's Hi-Fi News, Hi-Fi Choice, Home Cinema Choice and the Hi-Fi Show Live.

The folks at Morrow Audio just emailed that they will be bringing to this year's AXPONA audio show in Chicago (April 13-15) at the Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel, thousands of vintage classical and jazz albums all in mint condition, 95% of which have never been played.

March 9 – Experience Hendrix and Legacy Recordings have released Jimi Hendrix’s new album Both Sides of the Sky today on CD, digital, and as a numbered 180-gram audiophile vinyl 2 LP set. NPR Music recently declared, “No rock figure before or since could breathe fire like Hendrix does, on his beloved well-known albums and on the assortment that is Both Sides of the Sky.” For the occasion, director John Vondracek has created a music video for “Lover Man,” a single from the album.

Concord's Craft Records division just released a deluxe two LP box set of Sonny Rollins' Way Out West recorded in March of 1957 in stereo and released by Contemporary Records first in mono in 1957 and then by Stereo Records (in association with Contemporary Records) in stereo probably in 1958 or perhaps later.
