Analogue Productions Announces 200g UHQRs, 180g 45rpm 2LPs, and Reel-to-Reel Editions of Four Landmark Albums by The Who, With My Generation and Live at Leeds Coming First on July 24

Talkin’ about, well our generation. Today, July 17, 2026, Analogue Productions announces an expansive new series of definitive audiophile reissues from The Who, spotlighting four of the legendary British band’s most essential recordings: 1965’s My Generation, 1969’s Tommy, 1970’s Live at Leeds, and 1971’s Who’s Next. This quartet of prime Who excellence will be released in a variety of high-end, audiophile-centric formats: UHQR vinyl, 45rpm LPs, hybrid SACDs, and Ultra Tape reel-to-reel formats, with all of them said to be sourced from the original analog master tapes.

Up first will be My Generation and Live at Leeds, both of which will be released next Friday, July 24, 2026. Release dates for Tommy and Who’s Next will be forthcoming.

As noted above, each Who release has been sourced from the original analog master tapes, and they’ve been mastered by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering, with the SACD editions mastered to DSD. Each release in this series is pressed at Quality Record Pressings (QRP), and the vinyl editions are housed in deluxe Stoughton Printing old-style tip-on heavyweight gatefold jackets with scuff-resistant matte finishes.

Both My Generation and Live at Leeds will be available as 180g 45rpm 2LP sets, hybrid mono SACDs, and Ultra Tape reel-to-reels. Meanwhile, Tommy and Who’s Next will be presented as 200g 45rpm 2LP UHQRs, hybrid stereo SACDs, and Ultra Tape reel-to-reels. Naturally, we here at AP will endeavor to review as many of these releases as possible when the time comes. (If we, meaning me, get to review the SACDs, that will be done over on our sister site, Sound & Vision.)

You can pre-order any and/or all of these Who releases here.

AP, via firsthand reporting by Tom Fine, exclusively confirmed the following stats and pricing.

My Generation is the original UK version, and its 180g 2LP 45rpm set has an SRP of $65, while the hybrid SACD goes for $35, and the 2-tape reel-to-reel is $500.

The 180g 2LP 45rpm set for Live at Leeds also has an SRP of $65. The hybrid SACD is $35, and the 2-tape reel-to-reel is $500.

As for Tommy, its 200g 2LP 33⅓rpm UHQR Clarity Vinyl version is limited to 3,500 copies, and it will go for $150. The hybrid SACD will be $35, but the 4-tape reel-to-reel version’s SRP is still undetermined as of this posting.

Finally, the Who’s Next 200g 1LP 33⅓rpm UHQR Clarity Vinyl edition is limited to 7,500 copies, and will go for $125. There will eventually be hybrid SACD and reel-to-reel releases, but not until 2027 due to Analogue Production’s licensing arrangement with Universal Music, according to Gene Zacharewicz of Analogue Productions.
