WFMU Record Fair Tonight, Saturday and Sunday!

The WFMU Record Fair, one of the best record shows in America, comes to Greenpoint Brooklyn tonight through Sunday.

For more information click on the hyper-link. Regrettably, I will not be attending this year. Why? I have more unplayed records than I can currently handle. Many were bought at a last year's FMU record fair. Others at garage sales or record stores I've visited over the past few years. Plus all of the promo records I've been sent that really need to be reviewed, not to mention all of the new records I've purchased—wait, I just did mention those.

In any case, it's a great show and I wish I was attending but it really doesn't make sense for me until I clear out unwanted records (is there such a thing?) because my shelves are full. Literally. And now the floor is beginning to fill up too.

So if you are in the NY Metro area, do not miss this show! It's always great.

Those are a lot of fun.

Seriously, if you ever held a "garage sale" for your extra records, you'd probably have a line around the block. ;)

I still have never gone to a record show, but given our area, I've heard from others that our record shows are more like dumpster diving--the rejects that even the record stores don't want. (Not all sellers, of course, but enough to make it a questionable trip.) I still have to experience one, though. It might be worth a road trip to the WFMU show next year.

I know what you mean about having too many LPs I still haven't had a chance to listen too and its a space overflow. My wife won't let me bring any more home till I get rid of an equal amount.
