For an artist who passed away at a relatively young age (51) Bill Evans left a rich and varied recorded legacy—more music on disc than even the most dedicated Evans fan could possibly consume, yet more rare and often precious gems continue to be discovered and released, particularly by Resonance Records, whose Co-President Zev Feldman is a huge Evans fan.

Roger Modjeski passed away December 11th 2019 at age 68 after a year long battle with cancer. He was a brilliant audio engineer who, after working at IBM and teaching at Stanford, joined Harold Beveridge in Santa Barbara, CA where he worked on that designer's electrostatic loudspeakers before becoming a reluctant manufacturer whose no-nonsense products have stood the test of time. He favored teaching and mentoring to manufacturing but managed to do both very well.

Revox recently introduced the $4000 T700, its first new turntable in many years. The company's first platter spinner, the Revox 60 was originally introduced in 1956. A series of tangential trackers followed. The new T700, manufactured in Germany, features a built-in MC phono preamplifier and comes standard with an Ortofon Quintet Bronze moving coil cartridge.

Rhino announced on October 24th an impressive lineup of RSD "Black Friday" 2014 vinyl releases including the MONO version of Iron Butterfly's classic Heavy album cut from analog tape on "heavy" 180g vinyl for $24.98.

Record Store Day is April 20th and Rhino will be ready with its biggest limited edition release yet. Included are The Band's 3 LP set The Last Waltz, a limited to 5000 copies $49.98 edition and the rare mono edition of Van Dyke Parks' epic Song Cycle that mostly went to radio stations for some odd reason

Has it really been 45 years since Rhino Records put out their very first release in 1978? Rhino recently reissued Love's essential Forever Changes album in conjunction with last November 23rd's "Record Store Day." The album was cut by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering and pressed at RTI.

The hunt for Rocktober vinyl is officially underway. Rhino is once again set to commence their annual Rocktober vinyl campaign, this time with a full slate of 27 limited edition LPs that will be spread across each Friday of the month ahead, starting on October 6. Rhino releases on June 29th What's That Sound? The Complete Albums Collection Buffalo Springfield's three studio albums newly remastered, sourced from the original analog tapes under Neil Young's "auspices". The boxed set will be available on five CDs, or as a limited to 5000 copies 180g LP edition. Though the group released but 3 LPs, the set includes the mono editions of Buffalo Springfield and Again. The date celebrate's the group's final live concert 50 years ago.
