David Bowie's death came as a complete shock to everyone this morning. I don't even know where to start other than to write that like John Lennon's death, you wake up to a different, diminished world. This Gene Clark Tribute Show had been prepared prior to leaving for The Consumer Electronics

Recently, I presented the idea to AnalogPlanet editor Michael Fremer that I could do my very own online radio show to post on AnalogPlanet. I could transfer most of the songs from vinyl, stitch them together, and speak in between DJ sets. MF said “try it and let’s see how it turns out.”

Analogplanet Radio was introduced here a year ago today. Now on the first anniversary of that announcement all of the WFMU HD Radio shows can be accessed in one place on the Analogplanet website.

Today’s Analogplanet.com radio show consists entirely of 12” singles and E.P.'s, mostly at 45rpm. These were popular throughout the 1980s and often featured unique remixes, extended versions and unreleased tracks.

February is WFDU’s pledge month. The station doesn’t run advertising and so depends upon listener support.

AnalogPlanet editor Michael Fremer made sure to be home from C.E.S. 2017 in time to do a live radio show today, January 9th, about David Bowie, . It's the day after Bowie's birthday and the day before his death.

Today’s Analogplanet WFDU HD/FDU.fm Radio Show is an Eric Clapton tribute. Of course all from vinyl, mostly original pressings. It starts with a track from his latest album and then goes back to the beginning with a track from Five Live Yardbirds.

Today's AnalogPlanet WFDU HD2 radio show consists of songs about infidelity and cheating. It covers most musical genres, which demonstrates that people cheat regardless of their musical preferences! Whether or not you have cheated, I think you'll dig the songs about it by artists who may or may not have themselves cheated.

When Stereophile deadlines loom, AnalogPlanet content suffers. Nothing can be done. But the radio show must go on so this week's show is all Island Records and all from the storied label's early years.

Today's John (Cougar) Melloncamp WFDU HD2 radio show is the final AnalogPlanet radio show. It's sure been fun but it takes up a great deal of time producing and researching—much of every weekend—and it's time to put it to bed, though it's been a fantastic experience.

Today's show is all-Motown sourced almost exclusively from original stereo pressings. Well, there's one curve-ball: The Clash's "Hitsville U.K.", which is sort of a Motown tribute song. And the Marvin Gaye Anthol

This is not a show featuring records on the Reprise label (but that's a good show idea)!

This is Analogplanet Radio's second WFDU HD2 Warner Brothers Records Tribute Show available for streaming here and on the WFDU.fm website. I think this is another great show! And if I don't say it, who will?
