I was a guest today on Evan Toth's WFDU (Fairleigh Dickenson University) radio show. Mr. Toth called recently and asked if I'd like to be on his show, which runs on the Internet and I said "sure". His show is called "Garden State Sound" and features music by New Jersey artists.

A pin-up cover girl in 1972? Slicked back greaser hair, and while you’re at it an album jacket clothes, make-up and hair credit? Maybe you weren’t around for it in 1972 but back then this—not long hair, sandals, checked flannel shirts and bell-bottom jeans— was outrageous. Those were so yesterday-hippie.

Lyra Cartridge CEO Stig Bjorge collects some vintage audio gear. The Technics SL-15, introduced in 1981, is among his favorites. Recently, he found one for sale in America and he asked me if I'd pick it up for him in Princeton, New Jersey, which happens to be the home of The Princeton Record Exchange.

The graphic above is incorrect but based upon projections for 2014. Nielsen/Soundscan reported recently that 9.2 million vinyl records were sold in 2014—a whopping 54% increase over 2013.
