I assume no info about sources as always from Rhino...will be interestimg to compare the Dan album to the rare unofficial release.

Dan album unofficial? Both have been officially released in 2000 and 2003.

Two Against Nature was never officially released
It was bootlegged from a digital source
Walter Becker wrote a piece on the Dan website around 2002 NOT to buy this fake

This will be the most coveted record for me

Better be a larger release as well
I have the HD Tracks 24/92 digital release

I recall the piece Becker wrote and in it, he speculated that it would be a major project to produce an analogue version. Will the source of this version be revealed? I sure hope so, as I am also sincerely interested.

Hope Michael finds out, would be very interesting.

we do hope Michael can uncover this mystery. Do we even know what format the original recording was done in? Digital or tape? If it was digital from the beginning, I don't know if a vinyl version will be a noticeable improvement. It is a good sounding seedee, but many of us yearn for a AAA vinyl cut directly from the original master tape.

"for the discerning Steely Dan fans":

Who knows?

not 1.000

the price alone shows it was no official one.

I bought it for the normal price at the time. Sounds better than the hires files, but not „analog-like“ better. Can report here how it compares once the Rhino is out.

I'm so glad that (a version of) Tom Petty's soundtrack for She's the One is finally getting a release. I was a pre-teen when the album came out, and it's the first album of his I really latched on to.

I even attempted to record a version of "Walls" when I was 11 or so with my minimal guitar skills and primitive overdubbing:

I oughtta add that as much as I love the album, I've never seen the film. And honestly, I don't have any intention to as it can't live up to how good the album is.

A Chris Bellman cut has been available for 4 or 5 years (although it might be out of print now).

My gripe is that it is "limited edition" and who wants to go stand in line hoping to buy a record?

I'm getting a 'jump the shark' vibe from too many vinyl issues of late.

Anybody know if any of these titles are AAA? Rhino is terrible about customer service/responding to e-mails with ordinary folks. Maybe Mr. Fremer will have better luck...

PLEASE contact some of these labels and report on which RSD releases will be cut directly from analog tapes… most of the list gives no mastering details whatsoever. Same as it is every year. I’ve little reason to get excited for RSD anymore.

Buy LPs and take the chance.... just like 80% of the new vinyl today. OR only buy stuff from ORG - A Productions - Discipline Global and a few others that you can be sure of OR by old vinyl and listen to music.....
