Our Man In New Orleans---Found Alive!

This story, posted last fall, wondered about the fate of our Tracking Angle New Orleans correspondent Roger Hahn. Mid way through January, Hahn found us through a friend who\'d done an internet search on his name and came upon this piece, originally published in the Summer of 1998. Hahn will once again contribute, this time online at musicangle.com.

Back in the 1950's, RCA Records had a series of albums called Our Man in...... There was a Chet Atkins in Nashville, Henry Mancini in Hollywood, etc. When we published the print edition of The Tracking Angle, we re-established the Our Man in... series in which our writers described the goings on in their town. Roger Hahn covered New Orleans for us and I thought it would be interesting to read about what once was, and what we hope will once again be in that great music town. Perhaps after reading this, you'll be moved to contribute to one of the charities set up to help the people of New Orleans such as The Red Cross (redcross.org). I don't know if Roger Hahn remained in New Orleans after our magazine folded but if he did, we hope he made it through the recent hell and that he's putting his life back together.
