Soulines tt23 Turntable

Numbers don’t lie, or so we’ve been told. We here at AP are endlessly captivated by the various deep meanings and interpretations ascribed to certain, specific numbers — and we’re happy to report that Serbian manufacturer Soulines are as fascinated with numbers as we are, if not more so.
Much like how they chose the nomenclature for their previous, rightly acclaimed tt42 and tt9 turntables, Soulines have also been quite deliberate in how they decided upon the name of their new tt23 turntable, a model they also tell us also builds upon the design principles of both of those earlier-noted tables. (Footnote 1)
Here’s how Soulines put it, in their own words: “Besides personal importance for us, the number 23 holds significance in various contexts, including mathematics (unique properties of the number 23), human biology (23 pairs of chromosomes), religion (Psalm 23), and numerology and astrology (angel number and the number of creativity). All mentioned properties of the number 23, almost perfectly match the tt23 turntable design principles and performance abilities.” (Sounds quite numerically logical to us.)
The Soulines tt23 turntable is said have been precisely machined and made from cast acrylic, Derlin (POM-engineering plastic), and aluminum, which altogether form a relatively light, yet highly rigid assembly. This solid but light construction is intended to prevent sound-damaging resonance energy being stored in the assembly. The logic behind that idea is, without the excessive mass available where resonances can be stored, they are pretty much channeled out from the assembly itself.
The dimensions and shape of the tt23 table’s plinth and sub-plinth elements (including the arrangement of the holes seen above), were optimized by employing the Golden Ratio and Fibonacci sequence, which were utilized in order for the table to gain uniform vibration damping and reduction of the moment of inertia in all three planes (i.e., along all three axes) to the center of the mass.
The tt23’s platter is 40mm thick and weighs 3.5kg, and it is said to be precisely machined from cast acrylic. Coupling it together with the advanced main bearing is said to ensure smooth rotation, as well as rumble-free and noise-free performance. The platter has a 1.0mm deep recess carved on the top for an LP’s paper label. Said recess is intended to ensure that, when any LP is placed on it, it will lay flat. A Soulines tt Clamp record clamp is provided for further stabilization of any record that’s on the table.
The advanced main bearing and the solid aluminum armboard are mounted directly onto the aluminum made sub-plinth, which is in turn 3-point-coupled to the main plinth by way of rubber-cork washers of different thickness and diameters. The motor assembly, which has been machined from Derlin (POM), is rigidly mounted onto the main plinth.
The inverted-type main bearing boasts a stainless-steel top outer cup, brass spindle sleeve, and stainless-steel spindle, and it employs Derlin thrust plate. The subplatter is precisely machined from Derlin (POM-engineering plastic), and it is rigidly secured to the main bearing.
The drive system is built around the same high-quality DC motor used in Soulines’ Other top-tier turntables. It’s electronically controlled, and said to provide for easy operation and fine playback speed adjustment. Speed changing and start/stop functions are operated by moving the on/off and 33/45 toggle switches. A pre-mounted Soulines KiVi M3 tonearm with a standard 5pin DIN socket located at the bottom of its main pillar is included with the tt23.
The tt23 turntable comes supplied with Soulines’ SA acrylic (plexiglass) dust cover, the above-noted tt Clamp record clamp, and a cartridge protractor alignment tool printed on 300g paper that includes Baerwald, Loefgren, and Stevenson protractor options.
The dimensions of the tt23 table are 440 x 180 x 355mm (w/h/d), and its weight is 14g (net). The packaging weight is 15kg, and the package box dimensions are 510 x 310 x 410mm (w/h/d).
Finally, the SRP for the Soulines t23 turntable — which is expected to be available in Spring 2026 — is £5,290, including VAT.
