TEAC TN400BT X/TB Turntable

Just ahead of spring, TEAC recently announced the TN400BT X/TB, a nifty new turntable that boasts an eye-catching, turquoise color on its plinth — Turquoise Blue, in their official parlance. In brief, the TEAC TN400BT X/TB turntable — which the Japanese company confirms is a limited-edition offering in this color option — brings together convenient connectivity features in an attractive piece of gear.
You can go wireless or wired with this table. The TEAC TN400BT X/TB uses the latest Qualcomm aptX, aptX Adaptive Bluetooth (version 5.2), and SBC codecs for low-latency signal transmission to Bluetooth speakers or headphones — or you can connect via the RCA jacks around back.
The TN400BT X/TB also boasts a built-in phono EQ preamp (with an NJM8080 op-amp) that’s defeatable — good news for those who already have an outboard phono preamp, as users can switch between line and phono output via a toggle on the back. Gold-plated RCA jacks (and a ground screw) are included for wired connectivity. Up to eight (!) Bluetooth connections can be retrieved; an LED indicator shows pairings.
The TN400BT X/TB table is a three-speed (i.e., 33⅓, 45, and 78rpm), belt-driven design that deploys a DC motor to drive the die-cast aluminum platter. The bearing is brass, and the spindle is said to be low friction to help stabilize rotation. The included static-balanced, S-shaped tonearm comes with a counterweight, antiskating adjustment, and an Audio-Technica AT95E MM (moving magnet) cartridge installed.
Coated in high-gloss turquoise lacquer, the plinth is made of high-density MDF. “Floating” aluminum feet are said to help decouple and level the plinth. Aluminum control knobs also echo the platter’s material look and feel.
The TN400BT X/TB table also ships with a felt mat, dust cover (and hinges), user manual, and AC power adapter. Specs include a frequency response given as 20Hz to 20kHz, wow & flutter as ≤0.2%, S/N as ≥67dB (A‑weighted), effective tonearm length as 223mm, and cartridge weight as 3-7g (14-18g, including the headshell). The table’s dimensions are 420 x 117 x 356mm (w/h/d), and it weighs 4.9kg.
Finally, the TEAC TN400BT X/TB turntable sports an SRP of $630, and its availability is Spring 2026. Given that quite reasonable price point, it sounds like the TN400BT X/TB is indeed a favorable, all-inclusive source unit for music lovers new to the joys of vinyl playback, as well as those who are looking to upgrade beyond more basic — or older, or outdated — turntables.
