This morning the Los Angeles Audio Show scheduled for June 8th-10th at the Hilton Irvine Hotel was suddenly and without warning cancelled via a somewhat bizarre email show organizer Marine de Rogez-Presson sent to participants.

Denver CO—Vinyl Me, Please today announced The Story of the Grateful Dead, a limited-edition 8 album, 14-disc set deluxe box set featuring 4 studio albums and four "essential" live albums all cut by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering using the original analog master tapes, housed in "Tip-on" jackets and pressed at QRP on colored vinyl.("Acid Flashback" color characterization, AnalogPlanet's description, not VMP's).

Assembled by Mark Linett and Alan Boyd, the team behind 2013’s GRAMMY® Award-winning SMiLE Sessions, the expansive collection features newly remastered versions of Sunflower and Surf’s Up and boasts 135 tracks, including 108 previously unreleased tracks, live recordings, radio promos, alternate versions, alternate mixes, isolated backing tracks and a cappella versions, culled from the album sessions.

The long awaited announcement came today of VH1 Classic's new television series "For What It's Worth" starring Gary Dell'Abate and Jon Hein. The series premiers Thursday February 10th, 2013 and will continue weekly on Thursday evenings through March.

Legendary Englewood Cliffs, NJ Van Gelder Studio, the famed recording venue in which hundreds of the greatest jazz records ever were produced is the site for this recently announced second "Live from Van Gelder Studios" virtual music concert, happening on May 15th at 9PM EDT, with live re-streams on May 16th at 8PM JST for Asian markets and 8PM CEST for European markets.

When Rhino released in 2016 John Coltrane—The Atlantic Years—in Mono box set, one LP was missing: My Favorite Things. The set did include a 7" 45rpm single of the title track. The long thought destroyed in the Atlantic fire (yes, they had one too) has been found, according to The Electric Recording Company's Pete Hutchison.

This is great news! On December 27th Motown/UMe will release 5 mono Motown albums cut by Kevin Gray from the original analog master tapes, pressed on 180 gram vinyl and packaged in deluxe Stoughton tip-on jackets. The titles are: The Miracles' You've Really Got A Hold On Me (1963), The Temptations' (1965), The Four Tops' Reach Out (1967), Diana Ross & The Supremes' Reflections (1968), And The Marvelettes' Sophisticated Soul (1968).
