Revox and Deep Purple Partner Up to Offer Limited-Edition Band-Branded Tape Player, Turntable, and Speaker

Purple has always been among my favorite colors and Deep Purple are one of my favorite bands, so I was quite pleased to see that Revox have teamed up with the veteran (and mostly British) rock band Deep Purple to jointly present exclusive, limited, and signed special editions of the venerable Swiss manufacturer’s B77 MK III tape recorder and T77 turntable, as well as the STUDIOMASTER A200 loudspeaker.
Come have an early taste (mid-’70s DP reference very much intended) of what to expect from Revox and Deep Purple, via the official YouTube clip about it all below.
Last year, Revox did something fairly similar with Alice Cooper with great success (see my report about it from AXPONA 2025 here), so I expect equally wonderful things with this new partnership.
Here’s the (limited) deal. Revox have capped the B77 MK III DP tape recorder at 25 units, and the T77 DP turntable at 50 units. (As of this posting, the A200 DP wireless speaker, which was capped at 200 units, is already sold out.) Each DP-branded Revox product will also come with format-specific copies of Deep Purple’s forthcoming studio album SPLAT! in their own limited and signed editions.
The design of these DP-branded products, including the accompanying special tone coils, are said to perfectly complement the visual design of the aforementioned SPLAT!, which will be released by earMUSIC on July 3, 2026.
“The musical experience with these limited-edition products, combined with the unique music of Deep Purple, is pure and offers a clarity that only analog sound can provide,” said Christoph Frey, CEO of the Revox Group, in an official press statement. The products in this series have been specially designed by Revox and Deep Purple, and all of them are handcrafted at the Revox factory in Villingen, Germany. Each unit has also been personally signed by DP vocalist Ian Gillan, bassist Roger Glover, drummer Ian Paice, keyboardist Don Airey, and guitarist Simon McBride.
The mechanical braking system of the Deep Purple edition of the B77 MK III is equipped with an electronic braking function, which is cited by the company as being “an additional feature” specific to the DP model. The mechanical and electronic brakes work together and are said to provide, quote (their words), “even better and more precise control and stopping at the desired point with low latency.” In the event of electronic failure or a sudden power outage, this system is expected to “always brake safely.”
The included SPLAT! Studio Master tape specs are as follows: ¼in 2-track RTM SM900 at 15ips / 38cm/sec (CCIR) / 510nWb/m.
As for the T77 DP turntable package, it includes an exclusive Master Record of SPLAT! that was produced by the Horch House branch of Revox with “first-class analog equipment” and Japanese MDC lacquer plates, as cut in real time from an analog master tape on a vintage Studer A80 tape machine and Neumann recording machine.
To coincide with the official launch, these DP-branded products will be shown at Revox’s booth at High End Vienna 2026, which is being held at Austria Center Vienna on June 4-7, 2026. Deep Purple bandmembers will be at the Revox booth at High End Vienna 2026 on Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 2-3pm for autographs and photos.
Finally, the SRPs (which all include the VATs) are as follows. The Revox B77 MK III Stereo Tape Recorder – Deep Purple Limited Edition, which includes a copy of the Master Tape for SPLAT!, is $22,495, or €19,995 (CHF). The Revox T77 Turntable – Deep Purple Limited Edition turntable, which includes a copy of the Master Record for SPLAT!, is $8,495, or €6,995 (CHF).
Individually, the Studio Master tape edition and Master Record version of SPLAT! each go for $595, respectively. (The Limited Edition Studio Master tape goes for $1,498, while the Standard Master tape runs $495, and the Essential Master tape is $298.)
