Clearaudio's Clarified Lineup At C.E.S. 2017

Clearaudio manufactures an unusually wide range of turntable and tone arm models. In all the years I've attended C.E.S. or Munich for that matter, no one lays it all out (at the very least the lines imported to America by Musical Surroundings) so clearly and precisely as does Musical Surroundings' Customer Service Manager Michael Fajen in this video.

Thanks for posting this Michael. I've spoken to Mr. Fajen on the phone before, and he is extremely knowledgeable and helpful with questions the local Clearaudio dealer may not be able to answer. Clearaudio has impressed me with both their build quality, and of course the sound.

I have a Concept Wood like the one featured in the video, except I have the Concept MC cartridge. I have that same Satisfy black tonearm, which I really like (though I'm curious what you thought might be an issue with that arm). In any event, it really is a great package for the price, and I've been really enjoying it for the last 18 months or so. That said, I've been getting the itch lately to move up the Clearaudio line, so this video is very helpful.

I'm actually looking at getting the Performance DC with the TT5 arm. I just wish there were someone around who could demo that combination. Thing is, I'm stuck with a newer TT that probably has poor resale value (and one which I've complained about here before). Sounds great but it's typical of Pro-Ject flaky build quality and design decisions that bother me, especially at this price level for a near-flagship table. (And US support that sucks, quite frankly--Sumiko were rude to try to communicate with.)

What turntable is the one you are dissatisfied with? And did you ended up with the Performance DC with the TT5 arm?
