RMAF and Melbourne, Australia Audio Shows Coming Up!

Though analogplanet will not be conducting or participating in any seminars at this year's Rocky Mountain Audio Festival (not our choice), we'll be covering the analog comings and goings at the first audio show in the world where the buzz will be more from legal marijuana than from bad A.C..

Reports from the recent CEDIA show also held in Denver claimed that though many attendees walked around in a pleasant haze, obviously buzzed, business was conducted efficiently as usual and a splendid time was had by all. Most fun will be had by veteran tokers watching people experiencing their first highs.

Does anyone doubt this will be the best sounding hi-fi show ever? Even the same system set up in the same room as last year will probably be said to sound way better.

From Denver analogplanet's editor will fly to Melbourne, Australia for the the Australian Audio&AV Show 14, October 17-19th. We'll post here exclusive coverage of that show and editor Michael Fremer will conduct turntable set-up seminars for Aussie vinyl fanatics. He will not recommend changing VTA/SRA for every record and will definitely not recommend using curves other than RIAA for stereo era records.

Dope infuse candy is all the rage out here. So don't try any college level math quizzes on those walking around with lollipops or suckers dangling from their mouths.

Well being mathlexic it's difficult to predict my reaction. Perhaps a "medically" induced coma would improve my math skills!

This ain't your grandpappy's dirt weed. They are growing potent stuff out here...and then extracting the oil from it. I live in the hills west of Boulder with all the modern day hippies. I feel like I live in a Cheech and Chong movie. Even the 75 year old grandma up the road is growing the cash crop. Moving here from the bible belt has been a...uhm..."strange" transistion.

However, any neighbor that comes by and listens to my system is comfortably numb after a few minutes in the listening chair. Oddly enough, that is also the most requested song.

I will be attending and plan on getting high on the music here,,,not the weed.

Oh, it's going to be an extra fun audio show!

My biggest disappointment at the recent NYC show was that no one (unless I missed it) was playing the new Beatles mono LPs. I assume this was because no one was prepared with a properly set up mono cartridge.

Any chance we can hear some Beatles at RMAF?

"Brinkmann Audio- Meet The Spyder Turntable....Demonstrating the Spyder’s versatility we’ll be playing and comparing early UK stereo pressings of the Beatles’ works, and playing those same tracks from LPs in the new Beatles Mono box set, demonstrating the benefits of analog playback in both mono and stereo with the ease of a multi-arm setup."

2. Oct 11 @ 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Marriott Tower Room 1130. "The Beatles new Mono LP set will be sampled with Miyajima Zero-Mono cartridge – as it is supposed to heard."

Enjoy!
