Döhmann Helix 1 Turntable Finished and Looking Great!

The Döhmann Helix 1 turntable, designed by Mark Doehmann appeared at Munich's Hi-End 2015 show in not quite finished form. At RMAF it was there finished, though perhaps with a few minor cosmetic tweaks still to come.

The turntable is the product of Audio Union, which is a collaboration between Mr. Döhmann, Lee Gray, Frank Schröder (who also designed an arm especially for the 'table), Bo Christensen ( Bo Technologies and Primare), Dave and Tom Kleinbeck (EnKlein cables), Dr. David Platus (inventor of the Minus-K isolation platform), Stanaslov Stoyanov, Dr Plamen Ivanov Valtchev and THRAX Audio's Rumen Artarski.

The 'tables are built at Artarski's manufacturing facility in Bulgaria. You know the expression "too many cooks spoil the broth"? From what I can see and hear from this turntable, while there are many cooks involved, it doesn't appear or sound as as if they spoiled the "broth"!

Shown here with the Swedish Analog Technologies tonearm and the arm Mr. Schröder designed for Audio Union. The 'table will cost circa $40,000. BTW: that is not "Thing" from The Addams family hiding under the 'table. Honestly, I have no idea what that is!
