Creepy hand under the deck is an excellent addition for this time of the year :)
Döhmann Helix 1 Turntable Finished and Looking Great!
The turntable is the product of Audio Union, which is a collaboration between Mr. Döhmann, Lee Gray, Frank Schröder (who also designed an arm especially for the 'table), Bo Christensen ( Bo Technologies and Primare), Dave and Tom Kleinbeck (EnKlein cables), Dr. David Platus (inventor of the Minus-K isolation platform), Stanaslov Stoyanov, Dr Plamen Ivanov Valtchev and THRAX Audio's Rumen Artarski.
The 'tables are built at Artarski's manufacturing facility in Bulgaria. You know the expression "too many cooks spoil the broth"? From what I can see and hear from this turntable, while there are many cooks involved, it doesn't appear or sound as as if they spoiled the "broth"!
Shown here with the Swedish Analog Technologies tonearm and the arm Mr. Schröder designed for Audio Union. The 'table will cost circa $40,000. BTW: that is not "Thing" from The Addams family hiding under the 'table. Honestly, I have no idea what that is!

Is that Mark Doehmann who worked in CAL Caliburn?
At RMAF for several record cuts. Always difficult to tell for sure during such limited listening with an unfamiliar set-up what you do or don't like about equipment but my impression was that this table might be a game changer as an analog source. Speed and transparency with fabulous dynamics and bottom end too. Hope to hear more of it in the not too distant future.
The vast majority of product updates and reviews are definitely aimed at the 1%. I don't feel like I'm in this publication's target audience.
from someone who is sitting near the system. The reflection is picked up by the glass or acrylic front panel on the 'tables leading edge.
